Hello from the MTC!!!! WOW! This has been the best week of my entire life! I love it all so much. My companion is wonderful, sweet, and beautiful! I love her, her name is Sister Cooper and we get along very well. I am pretty sure I talk her ear off, and I feel bad about that. But when I meet new people I like them knowing everything there is to know about me. And lets be honest..... There is so much to know about me! I mean seriously!! haha!
I also love my whole district! we are a GOLDEN district! So there are 6 sisters and 4 elders in our district. Our district is who we go to classes with and spend most of out time with. Three sisters are heading four Eugene, Oregon while the other three, (Me included) are heading to Independence Missouri VC! So the three sisters who are heading to Oregon are Sister Clarke, Sister Allen, and Sister Francise. Then Missouri is Sister me, Sister Cooper, and Sister Cammack! And we all love each other. We share a residence so we are all very close and cozy in our tiny six bedded room. But I don´t think any of us really mind!
So here´s where it gets crazy! We were all given the wrong schedules on the first day and were told not to follow them, our teachers would get us new ones.... Well they didn´t haha and we went until 12:00 yesterday without any knowledge of what to do or where to go! First off because we were new. But also because we were NEW! haha so we all decided just to go to class at 7:00 and hope for the best. This is where our district gets golden. We sat in that classroom till noon roll playing and studying and being super productive without any teachers or zone leaders, or sister training leaders! We are pretty great if I do say so myself. When we finally did get our schedules we learned that we missed two meetings which we were super bummed about. But we got over it quickly..... haha
Yesterday Sister Cooper and I taught our first ¨Investigator¨Mark It was really just our teacher Brother Jolley, but the cool thing is when we stepped into that room with him, he was someone I´d never met who wanted to hear the gospel! It was really neat. But anyways, he didn´t believe in the power of prayer or that God loves us because his wife died. And so we taught him that God is our Eternal Father in Heaven. He didn´t like that that much, and he kept pointing out how could a loving father kill his daughter who did not deserve to die. So Sister Cooper brought up a quote in BD and it basically said, God doesn't stop the trials from coming but He can soften the blow if you let Him. Then Mark said, So you are saying it was God´s will to let my wife die(question mark) and Sister Cooper simply stated. Yes. haha it was awesome!! But then I pointed out D&C 122:7 and 9 and said that trials hurt but they are part of life and if you don't let God into your heart He cant comfort you. The first time we asked him to pray before all that he said no. But after I said that the room was filled with the spirit and I knew he felt it. So I asked him again and he said yes! I felt pretty good about the whole thing. I hope he follows up and we did good. We have not been evaluated yet so we will see..... But I am loving it here! I love the busy schedule and once again I love my district and I love my MTC Zone Leader Presidency!
Oh I almost forgot! haha Last night I recieved a calling.... I am now the zone music director.. AAHHH! I´m slightly terrified but also very excited! And no one can play the piano in our zone so it falls to me.... haha pray for me everyone... pray. for. me. Sister Cooper and I also are going to join the MTC choir which I am so excited for! It is going to be great! And today we are going to the temple and I am so so SO excited for that!!!!
Ok I think that is all for this week. I love you all! Thank you for loving me enough by reading to this point... I feel few of you have but I forgive those who didn´t Talk to you all next week! And if you want to email me. email me today cause I can answer back until 6:00! so do it! Love you all!
I also want to end with my testimony of prayer. In the past two days alone I have probably prayed about 50 times. no joke. And can I just say. I love it. Prayer is inviting the spirit to be with you wherever you are. Heck I am in the MTC and I pray to have the spirit with me every other 30 minutes! I am not saying pray every 30 min. But pray often that ye may come off conquerer- D&C:10. I know that the power of prayer is STRONG! It brings you closer to your Father in Heaven and gives you a strong relationship with Him. I ask all of you to pray often this week and see how different you feel. I promise that your attitudes and points of view will change. I love this gospel and I love my Savior! I love that I can stand here in His name and pray in His name! This is where I am supposed to be and I am so happy I am finally here! Love you all!
The church is true!
-Love Sister Rust
