so last Sunday the Rusty Bench was asked to sing a song in Sacrament meeting! So We sang a song that Sis Bench's dad wrote whilst he was serving on a mission! It is called The Seed and is sooo good! I believe should become like a famous missionary song! Which no doubt it will because it's so beautiful and powerful! While we sang I literally felt someone behind me and beside me and we literally had angels singing with us this Sunday. It was really special!
OK so it's so funny! We have one investigator and her name is {R} she suffers with chronic migraines and really bronchitis :( and her husband also blew out his back so he's also in the sick bed. So he's "not interested" hahah at least that's what he wants us to think! but seriously every time we are over there teaching, the door of their room is cracked wider and wider while he's in there. haha and then the other day he was actually in the room with us!! And pretended to be on his laptop but he literally wasn't doing anything but just sitting there. hahaha Oh David... We know what you're really doing. haha but he is seriously so amazing. He "isn't interested" because he wants {R} to make this decision on her own, but I bet you all once she is baptized he will be soon after. We cleaned their house yesterday cause they haven't been able to from being sick all the time, And he felt so bad but we told him that we didn't mind and actually loved doing it. Sister Bench and I have a strange obsession and it's deep cleaning. Like every P-day we DEEP clean the apartment. haha so he was like, "Are you two seriously real people? Two young women who stand up for what they believe by serving for 18 months away from their families... And they love cleaning? I think you're more like angels." haha he is just so supportive of {R} decision and he has seen the change in her and he loves it! Like the other day she was saying how she likes the International Bible better and he got after her saying she needed to get the King James Version cause that's what WE read. haha they are so cute!! I love them!
Seriously the people here make it all so worth it! There are small moments of discouragement and fear. But then I remember the people I know and my companion and I just feel God's love for them and for me and it just overrides any doubt or self pity I may have felt five seconds before that. It's such an amazing blessing to be a masonry! Seriously to be this close to my Father in Heaven and knowing that I could not be serving Him any better way than this! It's so wonderful! OK and here is my scripture for the week! 2 Nephi 4:17
17 Nevertheless, notwithstanding the great goodness of the Lord, in showing me his great and marvelous works, my heart exclaimeth: O wretched man that I am! Yea, my heart sorroweth because of my flesh; my soul grieveth because of mine iniquities.
18 I am encompassed about, because of the temptations and the sins which do so easily beset me.
19 And when I desire to rejoice, my heart groaneth because of my sins; nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted.
20 My God hath been my support; he hath led me through mine afflictions in the wilderness; and he hath preserved me upon the waters of the great deep.
21 He hath filled me with his love, even unto the consuming of my flesh.
Nephi was so amazing and humble! Even though he was a prophet he still felt wretched and he just knew that he couldn't overcome that feeling without God! And God will fill you with His love!!!!!
I love you all! Thank you for your letters and awesomeness!
Love, Sister Rust
