Hello friends and family that I love! Haha so apparently everyone from Independence Missouri is related to, has lived, or received conversion from the good ole town of Vernal Utah! haha crazy right?
On Sunday I met a member, whose name is Brother Brown, I told him I am from Vernal Utah and he like freaked out and said "Vernal Utah is the place where I converted to the church!" Apparently he was going through a very hard time in his life, and he decided to travel to get away from it all. So he went across the country. His car started breaking down in Roosevelt but he was able to make it to Vernal when it died. A woman let him in her house as his car was be repaired. As he was sitting in her house he saw a giant pile of books and on the very bottom was the Book of Mormon, he started reading it to see what it was and wanted to know more! When he asked the woman she yelled at him and kicked him out saying she didn't want any man who believes in that to be in her home. Crazy right?? Long story short that moment was where he changed his whole life around! And he wondered, why would this woman who hates the LDS church have that Book of Mormon lying around, and it was for him. It was for Brother Brown to find.
Moral of the story is, we don't know who we are going to help when we do missionary work! It's all about planting those seeds! People may not want it right now, but they might need it later, or someone else might fall upon it from them, like Brother Brown did! We show this video in the Visitors' Center at the very end of the tour where it shows the growth of the church! It says at the beginning "By small and simple means, are great things brought to pass!" This whole church started with a young boy kneeling down to pray.
I promise that if we strive to plant those seeds, to give someone a Book of Mormon or just share our testimonies it will help someone either right now or later in their life!!!! God prepares us all differently and through different ways, be an instrument in His hands by helping prepare those people by praying for missionary opportunities and following promptings!
I love you all and I know this church is the fully restored gospel on the earth today! Never forget that! :) Love you!
