General Conference Learning Experiences

It's been another wonderful week of General Conference and miracles!

I see miracles everyday here it's wonderful! Like yesterday I was able to go to sleep 30 minutes early! The Lord is so good to me.....

But seriously I love this gospel and I love the people! My favorite talk given in conference would have to have been either Elder Holland's, Elder Rasband's, etc. they were all so GOLDEN! but those two stuck out to me the most I think. It was just so wonderful to receive answers to my prayers and those talks were the ticket. So we were on shift the majority of Conference so we had to miss some talks here and there! :( But we are blessed with technology so we can listen to them all over and over again!!!! All I could think when members came into the Visitors Center during conference was,
"What the heck! Why are you taking me away from my beautiful conference time. This time is very precious to me and you are not only missing it but making me miss it!"

I have to admit I was pretty trashing salty when the first group came in wanting a tour. Mostly because Elder Renlund was talking about Les Miserables... As the tour started out the spirit wasn't with me at all! I was sad and angry I was missing out on filling my spiritual cup. Sister Bench taught some history then turned to me, and I was at a loss because I was so gathered up in my own self pity. I then made a quick joke as I prayed in my heart for the spirit to fill my heart again. And all of a sudden I was talking and sharing my testimony and REALLY enjoying myself. And the spirit filled me and our guests. It ended up becoming my absolute favorite tour! And I just realized, look how I almost missed that because I was thinking of myself. And it really put into perspective the importance of missionary work and how I truly have to forget myself and get to work! Because here are the  general authorities speaking of selflessness and serving others; and if I would have stayed caught up in my anger of missing the talks I would have missed out on a once in a life time opportunity and done the exact opposite of what they taught!!

I just want to bear my testimony of the importance of service and charity!! It is the pure love of Christ and you will never be truly happy and receive that full joy without it!! I invite you all to serve someone this week and just feel that difference!! It feels good doesn't it? ohhhh yeahhhh it does!! Charity and service rules!!

I love you all thanks for being your awesome selves :)

Love, Sister Rust
