A miracle happened this week! Sister Bench and I were going to go home after dinner and get studies and other things done because when you serve half the day at a Visitors Center normal missionary things get pushed back... so we were behind on stuff and decided to go home. But then I got the impression that we should go and see one of our potential investigators, Michelle, so we drove there and parked in front of her apartment. We said a prayer and right as we opened our eyes she was already down the sidewalk! She had walked out and headed to the store and didn't see us. And we just sat there dumbfounded and watched her walk away. Don't ask me why we didn't chase after her cause I don't know why but we just sat there awkwardly. So plan B..... we decided to knock on her neighbors door. No answer..... we decided to leave when Sister Bench said, let's go talk to that lady taking her smoke break! Ok! So we talked to her and she completely opened up! Wow!
We shared Prince of Peace video and she just started sobbing. She has been having a really bad week and was looking for some kind of peace! She asked us to come back again and we ended up meeting with her the next night and Friday night! And she also asked when our church service was!! Golley goodness Gracious! So we have taught her twice now and are meeting with her again tonight. She didn't come to church because it was Easter and she went out to family. But next week for sure! We are planning to put her on date tonight. She loves learning about us but we don't think she understands the significance..... *quotes Holes/Psych* "I can fix that" Hahaha good times.
It turns out I am and always have been a crazy abnormal movie and TV show junkie because I quote things here and there and all the sisters just laugh and are so amazed I know it so well... haha oops #noregrets
But anyways that was a cool moment to see how important it is to follow promptings even if the original course doesn't work out. Every prompting has its Reasons! And to think if we had seen Michelle that night we would have never met Lisa!
I hope you all had a happy Easter! Our Savior loves us and He knows us so well!
Love Sister Rust
